This video by Wheatland Tube demonstrates the benefits of CW pipe, including its superior ease of threading when compared with similar import ERW products. Continuous Welding is a common method of producing small diameter pipe, and is not often used for OCTG. However, it is interesting to note the obvious benefits of CW where making and breaking connections is concerned. It would be great to see this sort of material consistency in other steel tubular products.
As the video mentions, CW is also more ductile and less prone to failure when bent. Wheatland is a producer of small as well as larger diameter pipe for a variety of applications including oil and gas E&P.
